Lovers Leap

An excellent decaffeinated Ceylon tea with a brisk, refreshing taste.

Ceylon tea refers to tea produced high in the Sri Lanka hills. It is a beautiful tea with a brisk, slightly citrusy taste and is wonderfully restorative and refreshing at any time of day. Enjoy in the summer over ice and lemon or hot and strong to refresh after a Dartmoor day.

Bleak and lonely, high up on central Dartmoor this space is devastatingly desolate. My perfect spot! Head there is you dare with paper and charcoal, and try and capture the swirling lonely sensation that so few places can still give.

Loose Leaf or Bio Pyramids?

This tea is available in loose form or in our beautiful bio pyramids. Our biodegradable tea pyramids are suitable for composting and are completely free of microplastics. Made from a material called SOILON which contains lactic acid derived from corn starch, they are completely biodegradable and decompose within 30 days.

The dangers posed by microplastics on the environment are well documented. What people are less aware of are the staggering amounts of microplastics present in most tea bags. When steeped in hot water, they release billions of microplastic particles into the mug, each one the size of a grain of pollen.

When purchased in loose form, this tea is sealed within a biodegradable cornstarch pouch. So when buying our teas, whether in loose or pyramid form, you can do so safe in the knowledge that our tea bags and packaging materials are completely biodegradeable and free of microplastics.

Lovers Leap is our decaffeinated Ceylon tea and is extremely popular as it tastes just brilliant. Many decaffeinated teas have a peculiar edge to them, but this one we have found ticks all the boxes.

Quite obviously it is excellent as a bedtime tea, or for those wishing to avoid caffeine throughout the day.

Please note that Hampers will only be shipped Monday - Thursday

Said to be a place where despairing lovers threw themselves into the River Dart, we wish we had hot there in time to give them both a slap on the back and a good strong cup of decaffeinated tea!

On a less tragic note this tea is from a garden called Lover's Leap Tea Estate in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. The decaffeination process does take out some of the punch, but we assure you not enough to cause too much upset!
