Devils Tor

£8.50

A smoky black tea with a large leaf.

There is something slightly hypnotic about brewing a pot of broodingly dark Lapsang Souchong. Highly aromatic, it conjures pictures of crackling bonfires and heady wood smoke slicing through cold winter days.

To achieve such an intense aroma the leaves must be slowly died over pinewood fires. This process reduces the caffeine content of the tea, making this an excellent evening beverage.

Disappointingly, this fabulously named Tor isn’t quite as exciting as you might hope. No-one has ever figured out what the devil has do with it – there aren’t even any tall tales associated with it.

However, we’ve whiled away many a peaceful moment on its rather unspectacular outcrop with a strong cup of Lapsang Souchong and stared at the breathtaking views that are as extensive in distance than any we have ever seen. To feel part of a much bigger picture is where we find the meaning here.
