The mighty Yes Tor used to be flagged as the highest peak on Dartmoor until it was rather rudely demoted to second place, for the sake of a few meters.
It's sits on the Okehampton side of Dartmoor and rises spectacularly to a height of over 2000ft. Such a splendid vantage has given it in a firm place in history with both with ancient civilisations & British modern military.
The roads are well trodden but the hike is still steep. Set of early in a clear day to take advantage of the vast and inspiring views.
